Cookies for Kid Cancer

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and my consumer science classes are Baking a Difference with a bake sale which raises funds that will go to children's cancer research to discover less toxic treatments for kids through an organization called Cookies For Kids' Cancer. CFKC has raised over $15 million since 2008. The OXO company is matching dollar for dollar up to $100,000. This year the Rio Rancho Albertsons donated all the ingredients for the cookies. A big shout-out goes to them! My classes are starting to bake cookies this week to sell them during all lunchtimes this Thursday and Friday, Sept. 29 and 30. Last year we sold over $1200 in cookies and contributed with matching funds $2400. Please buy cookies or consider donating by scanning the QR code on the poster above.
